There's still some time this spring for light coats and jackets for brisk days so this month's pattern is a perfect little tweed box coat from 1955. This coat is in a body bust size of 32-36 inches but if you need help resizing this pattern or finding the appropriate yarn, check the vintage knitting resources at the bottom of this post.
Free Pattern: 1955 Tweed Box Coat Knitting Pattern

This loose fitting coat with a large collar has decorative pocket flaps and wide cuffs. It closes down the front with four large buttons. Knit it to wear this spring but bring it out again for round two this fall.

Look inside American Hairdresser magazine 1953
3/5/19
A few years ago I found a small stack of American Hairdresser magazines at an antique shop. These wonderful magazines are full of pin curl setting patterns, spectacular hairstyles to try and old ads for tools and hair products that they used back then. This issue is from 1953. This one even has a hair cut and pin curl set for a little girl that I wouldn't mind getting done for myself!
This magazine is for industry professionals so there are a lot of articles about running your salon and salon equipment. If you enjoy this post, check out my other old magazine scans for more hairstyle mags.
