I woke up around midnight last night, coughing my head off so I went downstairs to make some hot tea. I peeked out the window and saw a few inches of snow on the ground and it instantly made me feel better!

As I've mentioned before, I am not a fan of winter time. I don't like the gray days, the wet days, the lack of green things, and so on but there is something so magical about snow- I love it! Today marks the first day of snow in St. Louis this year.My home town, St. Charles received 2 1/2 inches of snow overnight and we're supposed to get a few more inches today. When Olivia first saw the snow, she was absolutely enchanted! I think we may have to put her snow suit and new boots on and take her out to play later this afternoon.

This morning, we enjoyed our annual "being snowed in" tradition of breakfast and The Seven Year Itch, which is hilarious!

I have to go grab the champagne. It's in the icebox with the potato chips and my underwear.....

Since we're stuck at home this weekend, I've been practicing different pin curl sets, since I never really mastered the technique. I realized that I've been doing the curls too small, which creates a huge, frizzy mess. I experimented with medium-large curls on Friday night and my Saturday hair was amazing!! Today, I tried a pin curl set for wavy hair. I did 4 rows of pin curls, alternating the direction of each row.  It took some playing with when I brushed it but this is how it turned out. Not too bad for a first attempt!
