I'm dusting off some spring hats this afternoon to freshen them up for the season. I've had a lot of questions about what types of hairstyles you should wear under a hat so here are a couple of simple, quick ideas from Senior Prom magazine, March 1951

I love your posts with old original styling guides. Especially this one about the bangs as I am thinking of getting my hair cut with "Audrey Hepburn" style bangs soon.

I love it! I've for so long wanted to know how everyday people styled their hair for hat wear. Thank you for sharing this. It is super helpful.
ReplyDeleteWow the fringe is so much shorter than the accepted norm today
ReplyDeleteThose short bangs! Wow. I won't even do long bangs now because I hate trying to grow them out. I love those vintage hats.
ReplyDeleteIs that a book or a magazine? Whatever it is I need it! Never know what to do with my hair (yours looks amazing, btw).
ReplyDeleteSuch classically lovely styles. Photos like this drive home just how wildly flattering above-the-shoulder styles can be on many different face types.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the great share!

Thank you for posting the image with the bangs. I have short retro-style bangs and usually either blow-dry or flat iron them. Or both. This will save me a lot of heat damage.
ReplyDeletebridal hairdos may turn out to be progressively lovely on the off chance that you pick a fitting style.
ReplyDeleteNice post! This is a very nice blog that I will definitively come back to more times this year! Thanks for informative post. Brockhampton Beanis
