There are a lot of things in my closet that I have never worn or only worn once. I don't understand why anyone has beautiful and abandoned things in their wardrobe so I'm trying to remedy the situation.
We're driving out to Bourbon, Missouri- the new home of my mom and weekend home of my grandma. It's an hour and a half from home, which really isn't bad in terms of a road trip but I wanted to be comfy on a hot day like Friday.
I'm so glad that Pj loves to drive because I am absolutely terrified behind the wheel. I drive when I have to but I'd much rather be a passenger and enjoy the beautiful scenery. He had to work late on Friday so I couldn't get any photos of the drive on the way so stay tuned for that on my trip back home.

This is so cute! I love that you are barefoot. I ride like this all the time, usually with my feet on the dash of the car. lol.
ReplyDeleteha! I do that too!! I usually keep some flats on the floor board in case we make a pit stop but I love to be barefoot most of the time! :P
DeleteDARLING! you look ready for the road in some fabulous old car with fins! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about the shoes:) Your outfit is so cute, sometimes it just takes wearing the items a couple times to get them right into the mix:) That bag is great!
ReplyDeleteI love this for a summer travel look! I wish I looked this put together while traveling. And I don't wear shoes on long car trips either, lol. You look fabulous as always, even barefoot.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable. Great vaction look - love it^^
ReplyDeleteI just want to say thank you for your blog. Being a busy Mom of 8 children, I don't get a whole lot of time to read blogs. However, I try to read yours once a week or so and it always puts a smile on my face and puts me in a better frame of mind. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Kris
Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI too hate to drive! So much, in fact, that I don't even have a driver's license or permit!
ReplyDeleteIve lurked on your site a long time but I have to say this is a gorgeous outfit, the color is so beautiful with your hair. I also hate to drive I live outside NYC and actually have not driven in over 3 years, my husband does all the driving but he hates to do it too. One reason we live in the city

This outfit is so wonderfully cute and summer! I swear, the classic theme song from Andy Griffith, with the opening where he and Opie were walking along with fishing poles in hand, started playing in my head. I could so picture you there walking right alongside them in this darling outfit.

You're right, it always seems such a shame when people have unworn things - and in this case they make such a nice outfit! I have a few unworn things myself but they mostly need mending before I can wear them. I really should get on with that so they can come out of the wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteI see no reason for you not to put this into your daily-wear.
ReplyDeleteIt suits you well, the colours are lovely (I'm personal here, since it's my favorite!)
Like yourself, I had some clothes I've forgotten - and when my closet malfunctioned (last week, all the hangers fell out of it).. I saw an opportunity to do a clean-up.
"Do I like it?" was the question
If "no, maybe some day" - trow it.
If "Oh, my.. I'll wear it tommorow first thing" - stay.
LOVE your brooch.

I too love that you're barefoot :) And the green :)
ReplyDeleteLove the green on you! Road trips rock! Glad you all had a blast!! xox
ReplyDeleteYou look totally adorable! I just went to Bourbon a couple weeks ago; I'm sure you'll have fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your scarf hair, too. How did you put your hair up in the back? It's too cute and I'd love to try it!
that is a cute outfit! when you say 'warehouse sale' for the skirt and blouse, do you mean the place where you got to dig through boxes and boxes of treasures?? (I can't remember the name of the place off-hand, although I know I'd love to take a road trip and visit it myself someday!)
ReplyDeleteI adore the bowling pin brooch. And I think my favorite part of the post was 'shoes - in the car'!
