It's been ages since my last Friday post! It's so good to be back to regular blogging. Today's Friday Fashionista is one of my favorite vintage mamas: Lucille Ball

"Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead."- Lucille Ball

While her comedy stands out more than her fashion sense, it seems that the modern world ties all things 50's back to Lucy. I can't tell you how many times a stranger has said "You look just like I Love Lucy!"

One of the most iconic fashion moments for Lucy and for mothers is when she appeared on television while pregnant. In her time, pregnancy and even the word "pregnant" was not acceptable for American television but when the actress was with child, they had no choice but to find a way for the show to go on. In 1952, Lucy became the first pregnant women to be on a television show and of course, she was a maternity fashion icon.

"How I Love Lucy was born? We decided that instead of divorce lawyers profiting from our mistakes, we'd profit from them."

"Use a make-up table with everything close at hand and don't rush; otherwise you'll look like a patchwork quilt."
