For memorial day weekend, we drove to the country to visit my parents and my aunt who was in town. We haven't been to the country very much this year but May was a great time to go. We saw a deer eating breakfast in the meadow one morning, we caught a couple of box turtles to play with one afternoon and there we so many squirrels, rabbits and unique Missouri birds that we never see in the suburbs.

All of the daisies were blooming in the meadows and in the yard. Mom and grandma specifically mowed around them so we could enjoy them as long as possible. I picked a few and made a daisy crown to wear in my pin curls.

I found this floral print cotton 50s dress at a thrift store ages ago and stashed it away in my shop racks. It never did make it to etsy and since the shoulders and such have some faded spots anyway, I decided to give it a try.  It's still too small in the boob area, as it was before so I got a little creative with an embroidered peasant blouse underneath! I've seen several vintage dress patterns with a little fabric inlay at the bodice front and I always thought it would be a great way to give my dresses a little extra boob room because heaven knows, I need it!
