McCalls Needlework Magazine 1942-1943

Thursday, March 26, 2015

Yesterday, I spent a little time pouring over a big stack of vintage magazines from my stash. I find so many great ideas for outfits, crafts, recipes and home decor. Here's a look inside McCalls Needlework from winter 1942-43. There's some really killer knitting and crochet patterns in these. I need to scan and share them before these old pages crumble!

  1. OH MY GOODNESS! I'm dying here on how amazing this magazine is. That first image with all the hats, those wonderful hats. Swoon. I want the "small chic beret" in my life. And those Rio Grande Outfits..amazing. What a find, love it.

  6. Thanks for sharing these great images. I can't properly express how much I love that first page of hats! I have a gorgeous wool tweed that I have been waiting to work out what to do with, and I think the "small chic beret" is it!

  7. Be still my vintage hat loving heart, these are fantastic! I love them all, but find myself especially taken by the "pigtail cap". It's so charming and unique!

  8. Hello there!
....you know what would be amazing? If someone did a "how to" on the heart-shaped pillow-box hat. :)
