Horray for Hosiery

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Pantyhose and/or stockings are not for everyone. Some think they're old fashioned or don't like the feel of them but I, however love my hosiery. There's something very glamorous and feminine about them and being a mom of two, I love that instant tummy tuck that I get with hose. Not to mention, my inner thighs are...less than svelte shall we say...and pantyhose can be a real life saver in the summer.

I received an email from Pantyhose-Pantyhose.com to do a link exchange and after taking a look at their site, I wanted to share it with you. It's full of information on different types of hosiery, sizing and best of all- brand reviews! The site doesn't sell hosiery but if you're in the market for some high quality, well fitting stockings or pantyhose, they can point you in the right direction

Are you a hosiery kind of gal or do you prefer bare legs?

  1. I'm definitely a fan of tights, but I don't think I've ever given pantyhose a try. I'll agree that they definitely have a glamorous look to them. :D

  2. For the rago girdle i use, stockings and garters are a MUST if you want the girdle to stay put. The stockings tug DOWN the girlde: and the girdle tugs UP the stockings. Its a nice relationship. That's why I wear them. They do feel naughty. I likes that.

  3. I hate panty hoes! I think that comes from liking open toed shoes. But I got into tights last winter. Maybe I'll have to give panty hoes another go. I haven't worn them in years.

  4. I thought pantyhose and tights were the same thing? I like the look and feel of stockings but there are some days where I can't be bothered with a suspender belt and keeping my seams straight, so I'll reach for the pantyhose. I'm not a vintage purist who'll wear stockings even in summer - I love open-toed shoes too much! Somehow I suspect that wasn't a social norm here in Australia, it is WAY too hot!

  5. I adore wearing stockings (thigh highs with garter belt or nothing...) but I can only get away with them a few months of the year. Otherwise it's (usually) carefully groomed bare legs...

  6. How are pantyhose a lifesaver in the summer? I'm so confused ;) I love wearing tights/stockings in general

  7. They help prevent chafing on the inner thighs. In the summer, when I'm all sweaty and walking around with my fat thighs rubbing together, pantyhose make all the difference! Spanx help a lot too!!

  8. Never thought I would say it, but I love pantyhose! I thought I would be glad to be free of them when the weather warmed up. But apparently, the pantyhoses were the thing keeping my thighs from rubbing together!

  10. I HATE pantyhose! I don't own a single pair, and never will. But I LOVE stockings! For daily wear during Winter I wear hold-ups, and for going out I wear vintage stockings with a girdle. During Summer I love bare legs. :)

  12. I wear stockings and Rago girdles all the time in winter and always for special nights out, regardless of the season. I stick to bare legs in the summer for the most part. I do not like pantyhose. They are just icky! I will, however, wear tights under skirts if I am in Colorado for skiing and/or visiting places where I will be doing a lot of walking in winter. I will wear a 50s vintage plaid wool skirt and tights underneath whenever I wear boots.

  13. I love stockings because they hide my leg flaws but more~so because I like the way they feel...unless its 100F outside...then it's bare legs ;)
