Some use a list where clients sign up as they arrive. Some only let in the people who are in line. Each company seems to do things their own way, but sometimes there is a standard method that is used withing a geographical area. In Southern California, where I do most of my sales and where sales are immensely popular, lists seems to hold sway. Sometimes, if there is a huge amount of people, they will only let numbers 1-20 (or whatever number they choose) inside and then they wait a few minutes before letting more people in. That's just a crowd control measure.Brittany_Va-VoomVintagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04377031677999463069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-13023387596750012192010-06-09T11:44:06.147-04:002010-06-09T11:44:06.147-04:00I have to ask about the numbers...once you get one...I have to ask about the numbers...once you get one does #1 get to be in there along for x amount of time, or they are just first in the door?

Love the post, very informative!Sirens Sexyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14696200466781817973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-19056795684916629322010-06-09T10:22:06.703-04:002010-06-09T10:22:06.703-04:00VERY good point!! So far, all of the sales I've been to have been run by companies but I agree with you that organization and prices are probably much different if run by a family member! One note: it...very thorough and very informative!! One note: it may be worth noting that not all estate sales are run by companies (at least not all the ones I've been to here in Canada). Sometimes, it can be worthwhile knowing whether or not the estate sale is in fact being run by a family member of someone who has passed away. This can be a very different sort of experience to the professionally run ones. Maybe it's different in the US? I definitely think people should try to go to the ones advertised by professional companies, as opposed to the ones that might be listed in the newspaper by individuals?BaronessVonVintagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09329735134543431231noreply@blogger.com
