I have the issue that a lot of posters above have, plus size but with smaller rib-cage and what they used to call 'deep-breasted', a difference of over twenty inches between under-bust measurement and my bust. NO ONE makes a bra my size and I usually have to buy a much bigger back strap than I need to try and get enough fabric in the cups to hold me, and then I have to remake the back (take out 8 inches or so) which when you are having to pay so much for the bra in the first place really stings! It also means that I end up with part of what should have been the front of the bra wrapping around under my arms. I also have a genetic disease called EDS which means I have extremely fine and stretchy skin so I have a lot of pain if I'm not supported and a lot of pain from underwires! If a bullet bra does for me what you say it did for you, I will bless you a thousand times!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14884863214871107207noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-69596204380992307062017-03-10T18:59:43.542-05:002017-03-10T18:59:43.542-05:00I bought a bullet bra in the size I normally take ...I bought a bullet bra in the size I normally take but it squished me :( did you find you needed to go up a cup size? I think you're the Einstein of brassieres! How it took only an hour to make with all the precisely placed circular stitching is an enigma to me, but then again, I'm basically a person who can only manage hems. In 8th grade Home Economics I sewed a sleeve inside out and couldn't manage a zipper to save my life. Alas, so difficult is it to find any bra that fits much less a bullet/or vintage bra that I could write a book about the last few years of failed efforts and the headaches I've gotten while futilely searching vintage clothing stores in New York City. Sadly, I've also scrolled/hunted thru hundreds of vintage bra ads on my computer until I'm seeing double and yet remain unable to find even one that would begin to fit my current small band size of 34/36 and huge cup measurement of HH/I. Like many of your readers, I loathe underwires; they rub me the wrong way, literally, and give me rashes. Like many of your readers too, I also once ordered a bra from What Katie did, but the straps were too thin and despite ordering the largest cup size, it turned out to be way too small (despite translating from US to UK sizing) Many moons ago when I was a 36D, I found several circle stitch cotton bras in a large antique clothing store. They were wonderful to wear! The straps weren't thin and flimsy but instead made of sturdy non-stretchy fabric (cotton?) and the cups fit and held up my gals without metal wires. Oh, if only I could find one now. The last time I went on an expedition 3 months ago to 5 different bra stores all advertising a dearth of brassieres to fit anyone, each sale's associate ended up shaking her head. The 4th one explained only Freya makes bras in cups above G and that they didn't carry my size, sorry. Even in Harlem where big busted women go to Lady Love Lingerie, they had nothing but heavily boned Goddesses. No more boneless Bali Flower brands either, ever since the company merged with - I forget. To make a long story short, if you actually read this email, would you ever consider sewing and selling a custom made bra for me? If so, I would devote a special prayer of thanks especially to you each night before I go to sleep and dream I wear a perfect bullet or cone or circle stitch bra that fits. Yours truly, desperate in the Big Apple.Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11607848254403131053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-74281589707501730332013-10-09T21:10:38.121-04:002013-10-09T21:10:38.121-04:00I have the What Katie did Bra too. Having had a kid, having big breasts to begin with, my girls hang so low without a bra (i make jokes about sweeping floors), it is very painfull when I don't have enough support. Not to mention if they are not lifted up enough, I look like I have no waist and everything looks matronly. So far, a properly fitting push-up has been my only salvation, eases back pain and I feel like I look so much better.I don't look saggy in vintage, but having massive cleavage doesn't quite feel period correct, so I have really been wanting to try a torpedo bra. I was worried that it wouldn't be enough lift. I haven't ordered from What Katie Did yet because the models that come in my size were like $75 and I'm hesitant to spend that much. I would love to learn how to make my own. Can you show how to do a padded one too, I like a light padding cuz it prevents nip-show when it's cold.Lynn Brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02993492904050155464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-74438638003970012112013-04-27T00:57:18.294-04:002013-04-27T00:57:18.294-04:00Please sew to sell!!
