My only issue with vintage wear and yard work is that a.) the jeans I make for myself just don't seem to hold up as well, and b.) other vintage style jeans (Freddies, I'm talking to you) are expensive, so I can't imagine being alright with getting dirt all over them. Vintage styles are actually really comfortable for yard work, but they just seem a bit impractical on the cost front.Emileigh https://www.blogger.com/profile/13683866769745929646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-90369554302532122082014-08-07T11:51:03.595-04:002014-08-07T11:51:03.595-04:00Oh no, hope you're skin is on the mend soon. ...Oh no, hope you're skin is on the mend soon. Great vintage inspiration here.seannaapprovedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09546047220109216505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-61640261103844963542014-08-07T01:28:11.267-04:002014-08-07T01:28:11.267-04:00Great post. I don't do yard work or gardening, as I am living the apartment life, but I am an Alaskan girl and spend a lot of my summers out in the woods camping, berry picking, and occasionally fishing. My standard outdoors outfit is a pair of old boyfriend jeans and flannel shirts. I would love to add a pair of overalls to the mix and have been searching my local thrift stores for the perfect pair, I could also use a few more sweaters (cause the ones that I knit do not go out and get dirty) Thank you for further inspiration.

Knitting in PearlsAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14321740673038769138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-57394237960517959682014-08-06T20:30:56.198-04:002014-08-06T20:30:56.198-04:00I really need a good pair of jeans for stuff like ...I really need a good pair of jeans for stuff like that. I have a couple of old pairs of my boyfriend's jeans that I'll pop on once in a while when I'm moving or doing heavy duty cleaning, but I would love a pair of the overalls like the ones that you have pinned. Thank you for the tips on how to dress both practically and stylishly in a vintage mode.Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06827840216337511678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-44090669790899655372014-08-06T15:16:36.700-04:002014-08-06T15:16:36.700-04:00Adorable, and helpful too. All they had were button up blouses and now we equate that with nice clothes. So it's really nice to have a couple of ideas for grungy wear, so that we can be appropriately dressed and still fabulously vintage. :) Thanks! I especially love the overalls in that second picture.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06196938349948447944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-78188874937360995502014-08-06T02:39:39.827-04:002014-08-06T02:39:39.827-04:00I love your takes on everyday casual and practical...I love your takes on everyday casual and practical vintage looks. I enjoyed looking back over some of those great posts. My hair is at a difficult length, so I might try out some of the scarf techniques.

Great photos too. My favourite is the rolled-up overalls over the white blouse. Such a cute gardening outfit!Tanithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09915557658875958630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-74603754996453872712014-08-06T02:12:57.053-04:002014-08-06T02:12:57.053-04:00Brittany, you're my heroine! We have quite a big garden, growing more than 100 different roses and some veggies for the kids… I'm usually wearing my not-so-vintage stuff from earlier times, but those clothes are falling apart now or are too big (I lost some weight), so I thought it would be nice to have some proper things to wear. And your post came right in time!

I thought too, the wide legged trousers I recently made (I'm a sewer) could be done also in a material suitable for garden work, and paired with a blouse they would make a perfect working outfit. Thank you so much for the inspiration, I love your blog!

Kindest regards from Switzerland, Doris (Mrs. Button)Mrs. Doris Buttonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04839503834598871835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1085997960024984026.post-4363710849909027312014-08-06T01:36:04.618-04:002014-08-06T01:36:04.618-04:00sssooooo cute!!
