Me and My Guy

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

One of the things I love about Olivia being in school is having time with just my little Rhys. We love to go on walks to the river and throw rocks in the water or play games at home. Lately, he's been helping me cook and he's quite a little gourmet!

This week, we went on a walk. He loves to stop and collect little rocks and look at all of the pretty old buildings. We found an old well that I must have walked past a million times and never noticed!

While we're taking blog pictures, he hops along the sidewalk and finds an empty bench to climb on but he also likes to jump into pictures and say "I want to see me now!" and he looks at the screen.

On our walk, I wore a 1950s skirt that I found at a thrift store a while back, too small but easy to fix since it was a gathered skirt. My closet has a sad lack of skirts so I'm spending the next few weeks using the fabric in my stash to make a few more. I also wore my cheeky new Wolf Bait tee from Mischief Made and a stack of red bakelite. I feel like my bakelite hasn't been getting much love lately, but I promised to start wearing it more.

  1. Oh Sweetheart, I love and miss St. Charles so much! You live in the best part of the city, and I love that it hasn't really changed all that much! I haven't had the money to get home, but I so want to, and I hope I get to meet you when I do.

    Your blog makes my day.

  2. Such a heartwarmingly sweet post. You live in one of the most picturesquely beautiful American towns I've ever laid eyes on.

  3. How are your flats treating you? I recently discovered that the cheapo flats I buy at Payless have been trashing my feet with the amount of walking I do. So I've had to wear sneakers -- which is hardly classy.

Would you recommend the ones you're wearing? I know you're on your feet and walking a lot. Thanks!

    1. Mine are cheapo ones too, I buy a new pair every 4 or 5 months. I usually wear my crocs flats around the house because they give a little more cushion and support but I basically live in flats so I don't notice any problems. I've heard really good things about the ankle wrap Jessica Simpson flats. They're supposed to be very comfortable and durable
